Walking Program

At Similkameen Pharmacy, we believe that health is achieved through a combination of factors.

Moderate physical activity and social interactions are key elements of a healthy lifestyle. These are at the core of our walking program. The Steps to Better Health walking program aims to promote wellness and address social isolation through physical activity and health literacy. Most suitable for seniors, it is offered free of charge to all.

The program consists of weekly group walks in an inclusive environment where all participants can go the speed and distance that is safe for them. To ensure a pleasant experience, walking poles and portable seats are made available to use during the walks. Additionally, since the group fluctuates on a weekly basis, the organizer tailors each route accordingly. Currently operated from April to September, we hope to return to meeting twice each week in the coming year.
